Volunteer in Vietnam
Affordable, Exciting, Life-Changing Vietnam Volunteer Experiences!
If ever a country deserved a helping hand it is Vietnam. Blighted by a
turbulent and tragic past, this Southeast Asian gem is fast on the road
to recovery and our Vietnam volunteers are doing their best. Our projects in Hanoi bring our volunteers into daily contact with some
of Vietnam’s most disadvantaged children in our orphanage and the local school, our volunteers make a real and lasting
difference.
Vietnam’s breathtaking scenery, rich culture, incredible
food and welcoming people are no secret. Millions of tourists flock here
each year. However, volunteering in Vietnam provides a completely
different take on how life here really works. Volunteers eat, sleep and
work amongst Vietnamese nationals, in local projects designed help the
most under-privileged in society. And while some of our projects can be
challenging, the positive impact our volunteers make is something that
stays with them for the rest of their lives. Many return year after
year.
Vietnam is fast emerging from a turbulent past and there is a very real
sense that now is the time there is now a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
to build a better future its people. Participating in one of our
Vietnam volunteer projects is the perfect way to play your part.
Available Projects
We offer two projects to suit volunteers from all walks of life. All
of our projects focus on helping the most disadvantaged children in
Hanoi, whether teaching in a monastery school or caring for kids at our orphanage. Projects are designed to make a real difference to the lives
of our children while providing a unique and rewarding experience for
volunteers. Here is a full list of our Hanoi volunteer programs:
- HANI Kids Project - When it comes to volunteering in Vietnam, it doesn’t get much better than this. Our Temple Orphanage Project places volunteers in the beautiful Bo De pagoda where they are truly immersed in daily Vietnam life, interact with and help the children who need it most. The plight of these children is heartbreaking and simply by spending time and playing games with these kids our volunteers bring some light back into their lives.
- HAIT Teaching Project - Volunteers help to transform the lives of Hanoi’s poorest children by
providing basic care and education. Amid grinding poverty, the families
of Hanoi’s slums are unable to afford even a basic education for their
children and many are forced to beg and collect garbage from a young
age. The local school gives the children a safe environment to learn, eat
and play. Volunteers work with children, teaching English and other
skills to improve their well being and give them the promise of a
brighter future.
Accommodation Offered
Accommodation is within one home. Volunteers live at our volunteers’ house. This simple
but comfortable home is shared with other foreign and Vietnamese
volunteers. It has toilets, a shared kitchen, a living room and sleeping
areas. Food is provided and volunteers must share cooking and cleaning
duties Where accommodation isn't available, volunteers will live with
a Vietnamese host family. All the families we choose are open and
welcoming and will be able to speak English.
